Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire
The opening of the Coast restaurant by the celebrity chef Will Holland, who was awarded a Michelin star at La Bécasse in Ludlow, has upped Saundersfoot’s status for food-lovers in the past year. Near by is the little market town of Narberth, with its food festival and award-winning butcher, delis and cafés, as well as blue-flag beaches, the Pembrokeshire coast path and the Preseli mountains.
“Cornwall is becoming overcrowded in the summer with beaches swarming with people. Pembrokeshire has been discovered by the discerning few who are looking for everything Cornwall has without the crowds,” says Carol Peett, of West Wales Property Finders.
“I am getting more clients who previously had second homes in Devon and Cornwall, saying they have sold there as it is too busy and expensive and [they] are buying here in Pembrokeshire, where it is quieter and better value for money.”
Prices These range from a four-bedroom house with sea views in Saundersfoot, on the market for £1.5 million, to a one-bedroom flat with sea views for £115,000.
