The latest figures released by premium rental agency, Luxury Cottages, have revealed the top locations across the UK for holiday let rental income yields during the last year.
The analysis included data from 2,170 postcodes across England and Wales using Land Registry data and booking data from Airdna.
The data included income generated by properties that were available for the full calendar year in 2019. The top ten analysis excluded properties generating income below a minimum threshold and excluded postcode areas with less than 20 properties listed.
The top ten postcodes ranked by yield were:
1. SA69 Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire
2. IP16 Leiston, Suffolk Coast
3. LL53 Pwllheli, Gwynedd
4. TS13 Saltburn, North York Moors
5. L6 Liverpool, Merseyside
6. IP18 Southwold, Suffolk Coast
7. SY20 Snowdonia, Powys
8. SA9 Brecon Beacons, Powys
9. SA17 Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire
10. NE8 Newcastle, Tyne-and-Wear
Alistair Malins, CEO and Founder of Luxury Cottages: “Our research demonstrates that the short-term rental sector is a thriving part of the UK economy which continues to perform strongly versus traditional buy to let property. Holiday lets are a significant contributor to local tourism and generate vital income for local businesses as well as their owners. They are also a fantastic investment, particularly in honeypot locations like Southwold, as well as more affordable locations in Southern and Central Wales.”
