The ascendance of Saundersfoot as “the place to buy” continues with all the townhouses in the new £5 million residential and commercial development in the centre of the village being snapped up almost immediately they became available.
The development – Cambrian Quay – on the site of the former Cambrian Hotel, features eight town houses, five apartments and two commercial units. The townhouses ranged in price from £380,000 – £410,000 whilst the five sea view 2 and 3 bedroom apartments have now been released for sale through Savills.
One of the commercial units is set to be a restaurant with courtyard, and has been let to the restaurateur currently running the Harbourmaster at Milford Marina.
The Cambrian Hotel was devastated by a massive gas explosion thirty years ago and, having been rebuilt, had stood empty since 2006.
Saundersfoot, over the years, has turned from a sleepy harbour village to a thriving bucket and spade holiday resort perhaps known as Tenby’s poor relation but it has now emerged as an upmarket coastal resort where sea view properties in sought after Frances Road change hands for circa £1 million. This transformation began 10 years ago with the opening of The St Brides Spa Hotel overlooking the harbour which won Hotel of the Year Wales in 2011-12. In 2014 the stunning Coast restaurant opened its doors with celebrity chef and ex Michelin star holder at Le Becasse in Ludlow, Will Holland, in the kitchen attracting diners from throughout the UK and overseas.
