
Pembrokeshire is to star once more on the silver screen.
The latest film to have been shot in Pembrokeshire is “Their Finest”, due to be released on 21st April. Set in 1940’s Britain, it tells the story of film makers making a patriotic film about Dunkirk to boost British morale during the Blitz.
Gemma Arterton, Bill Nighy, Sam Claflin, Richard E Grant and Helen McCrory star in the film which features scenes from Freshwater West, which doubles as Dunkirk, Porthgain, Cresswell Quay, Cresselly House and several other locations around Pembrokeshire.
Pembrokeshire is well known as a film location with numerous movies shot here. These include Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows and Robin Hood, starring Russell Crowe (who said he loved Pembrokeshire and spent the evenings at The Carew Inn playing guitar, singing and buying drinks for the locals); both of which were filmed at Freshwater West; Me Before You, also starring Sam Claflin, and Bad Education, both filmed in Pembroke Castle; Third Star starring Benedict Cumberbatch filmed at Barafundle Bay, Snow White & The Huntsman filmed at Marloes and many others going back to The Lion in Winter, Under Milk Wood and Moby Dick.
