A large country house near Clynderwen, on the Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire borders, has been identified as the site for a new independent secondary school.
Once the main house of the Clynderwen estate that extended to more than 1,600 acres, the seven bedroom Clynderwen House has been owned by several important families including the Griffith and Gower families, the latter having bought the estate around 1825. It had been on the market for some time.
Redhill, an extremely popular Montessori nursery and Prep. school near Haverfordwest, is expanding into secondary education and the school would draw pupils from across Pembrokeshire as well as parts of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
This will be the second independent secondary school to move into a large country house in the area recently with the excellent Castle School relocating to the Grade II listed Sodston Manor, Narberth in 2015.
