An independent school in Pembrokeshire is set to move to a new home in September.
The Castle School, an independent school catering for pupils aged 11-18, which attracts pupils from all over Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, started life in the former primary school in Cresselly. However, the success of the school, opened by the Principal, Mrs. Harrison with just 23 pupils in 2009, has meant it has outgrown its former premises.
Now the 25 staff and 97 current pupils, whose fees are £2,665 per term, will start the new school year in their new premises; the Grade II listed Sodstone Manor, situated just I mile from the popular town of Narberth.
The school will breathe life back into the beautiful old house which, for the past 8 years, had fallen into disrepair. Mrs. Harrison purchased the property for £270,000 and has already carried out £230,000 worth of refurbishment. Planning has been approved for further classrooms to be built in the grounds.
