Latest Land Registry Data – Wales
Prices for detached properties in Wales rose by 5.4% from January 2018 to January 2019 according to the latest figures from the Land Registry. This brought the average cost of a detached house up from £231,777 to £244,321. Semi-detached properties rose 4%, terraced by 4.6% and flats and maisonettes by 4.0% bring the average rise over all types of properties to 4.6%.
The average price for cash transactions in January 2019 was £156,391, up 5%. The average mortgage price was £164,508, up 4.4% while first time buyer average price was £137,820, up 4.4% since January 2018. For former owner occupiers the average price was £186,545, up 4.9% over the year.
