8. Bosherston, Pembrokeshire
This is where the Welsh national surfing championships are held, and the village attracts surfers from all over the world. Bosherston is between the beaches of Barafundle Bay, which is regularly on the list of the best beaches in the UK, Broad Haven South and Freshwater West which was the location of the Shell House in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and where Dobby was buried in the sand dunes.
The area has become “extremely hip”, believes Carol Peett, of West Wales Property Finders, and is also a favourite with foodies — it’s here that the Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company, which won the title of the best street food in the UK, started and is based. It serves lobster rolls, Pembrokeshire caviar and Ships Biscuits — which it takes around the country to festivals. Last year it was awarded a silver medal for “most sustainable trader” at Glastonbury
