Homebuyers looking for million pound properties are quitting the capital and moving to the country for their dream home, according to research by Lloyds Bank.
While sales of million pound-plus homes in London continue to fall, Wales and the Midlands saw the biggest jump in sales of high-end homes.
The number of homes sold for over £1 million in Wales increased by 100% from 2017 to early 2018 (rising from nine to eighteen).
By contrast, buyers are losing interest in the capital, where sales of high-end properties dropped from 3,940 to 3,628 in the same period. The North East also fell for the super-rich to become the worst performing region. The number of million pound properties sold there dropped from 13 to eight.
